  1. I don't know why they didn't think of that the first time. It's the obvious and usual method.
  2. I just downloaded and tried for the first time WavePad v3.05. It's a very promising app, especially for a free one. However, I have noticed some items that are not quite right and have room for improvement. I don't know if any of these issues are addressed in the paid version (whatever it's called). 1. When I select Preview in High Pass Filter, nothing happens. 2. The Phaser effect is not actually phase-shifting - it is filtering out low frequencies, ie. static. There is no movement in cutting through the spectrum. Compare this effect to that on 'Itchycoo Park' by The Small Faces. The Flanger exhibits more of a phasing effect than the phaser! 3. The Stereo Pan is useless in it's present state. This should be constantly available on the bottom control panel. 4. Envelope and DirectX plugin effects should have Preview. Too fiddly as it is relying too much on fiddly guesswork. 5. Manual Pop/Click Reduction doesn't work, no matter how small an area I select. 6. The Echo effect sounds pretty bad. It destroys the fidelity of the sound. The quality is nowhere near professional standard. Completely unusable. I trust the Mixpad Echo effect is better otherwise I won't consider it.
  3. When I open the Graphic Equalizer in Wavepad 3.05 it goes into a stutter, hogging CPU, and the sound stutters with it. The program is unusable while the Equalizer is on. I'm using XP (SP2) on a 2GHz P4 with 2Gb of RAM. Also, can anybody tell me why they use that lazy lame format with a line, as opposed to separate frequency band adjusters?
