Just to say that I have the same 'default to data CD' issue. (See my topic audio/data CD of April 1st in tnis forum). I'm on Vista. A tech-savvy friend said I should use Nero to make CDs. I emailed NCH about my problem with their Express Burn outside the forum too, but received no response. That's a shame because Express Burn really does look good. If only it would work.

My Expressburned and finalized audio CD-R will only play on the PC that burned it, and not on any CD player known to man (Slight exaggeration. I mean not on any CD player in my house). I notice that selecting "Burn" from RecordPad starts up ExpressBurn immediately, with "Data CD" as the unchangeable setting and no chance of manually selecting "Audio CD". If I go directly to ExpressBurn I can select Audio CD O.K. but then I can't find the file I recorded on RecordPad to select it for burning. Is this Audio/Data CD issue anything to do with the fact that the burned CD will only play on the PC? Can the ExpressBurn default be changed to AudioCD? Or is the problem my CD-R media?
