  1. Express Scribe 5.10 Infinity IN-USB-1 or IN-USB-2 (happens with both) Asus Notebook K52Jc Series IntelĀ® Core i3 CPU M350 @ 2.27 GHZ 2.27 GHz 4.00 GB RAM 64-bit Operating System Windows 7 Home Premium Messenger does play sounds when I receive a message, but when this error occurs, there messenger sounds are out too. I would not know if I could reproduce the problem with the mouse as it happens about once a day and is a split second push on the pedal when someone messages me. I don't think I could physically time it in order to purposely reproduce this error.
  2. I have to have Windows Live Messenger on while I am working as this is the communication method for the company I am with. Since I upgraded to Windows 7, I noticed that if I receive an IM and at the exact time press on my foot pedal, Express Scribe and my foot pedal will no longer work. No functions on the foot pedal or in Express Scribe (i.e., play, ff, rewind) work. Closing express scribe, unplugging the foot pedal, reinstalling the software do not help the situation. The only "fix" is for me to save all my work and restart my entire computer, which is counterproductive. Is there some setting or a hotfix or something that I can do, other than not use Windows Live Messenger, that will fix this problem. I did not have this problem with XP. Thanks in advance.
  3. Okay, the answer to these questions is no. When this happens, Express Scribe is no longer active via mouse or keyboard and using the setup wizard does not work either. I have also tried unplugging the foot pedal and closing express scribe and plugging the foot pedal in again and opening express scribe and running the wizard. I have also tried reinstalling express scribe. The only thing that works is restarting my entire system, which takes time and decreases productivity.
  4. I'm having the same problem. Just got an Asus, Windows 7 64-bit. When I'm multitasking, switching windows, typing, mousing, footpedalling, my foot pedal will freeze and I also have to restart. Didn't have this problem with XP. Just found thread so will have to also try the suggestions above. Don't see that there is a driver update. Pedals are supposed to be compatible with Windows 7. I have an IN-USB-2 and an IN-USB-1, same problem with both. Foot pedal is plugged directly into USB, not through a hub.
