  1. Correct. That is recorded it the ini file I'm refering to.  Here is an example mailbox recording ini file. These files have the same name as the wav recording files.

    [message]

    mailboxname=Cabulance

    cid=Unknown

    callername=

    rideref=111

    driverphone=13606613225

    phoneref=6757737

    callsequenceno=116

    linename=Line 1

    linenumber=0

    date=2006-04-14

    time=15:05:12

    tosend=true

    read=true

    It contains call and global var values at the time of recording. The question is, how do I get to those variables when messages are played back when in "access mailbox control"?

    I do't know of any way that you can

  2. Hello everyone,

    I'm just trying out this program for the first time.  So far I LOVE everything about it.  It's just that every second, fourth, sixth...etc.  time I dial my phone number, instead of IVM picking up, I just get a fast busy tone as if the number didn't exist.  If I hang up and call right back it then answers with the outgoing message.  Is the program (or my modem - Creative ModemBlaster DE5621) not fully hanging up after taking a message?  Is there any advice?  Obviously I'd like to get this resolved before I shell out the cash for the full version.

    Thanks,

    Jerremie

    Yes the problem is your modem - use one of the boards reccommended on the website

  3. I am considering using a system like this but I do not know where to start. I am currently trying to start a phone line that allows the caller to automatically recieve information when they call. The problem is that it may have alot of extensions (35-50) because the caller will have choices when calling (press 1 for sales...etc)

    Can someone please help?

    IVM will do the job - let me know if you need help with the setup

  4. Hoping someone can help me with this question.

    This weekend, our IVM software just stopped playing our outgoing messages. When someone calls, you don't hear anaything, and then it hangs up. Yet, when I go in to the OGM menu, it clearly states which outgoing message should be played. When you click on the "play message" button, nothing is heard. However, when I go to the file on the computer where the message is kept, and I run it from there, the message plays fine.

    Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

    I suggest you try the following:

    Create a new OGM with a test message

    -set IVM to answer with new message

    - IF it answers OK, in the OGM directory copy the old wav. file over the new OGM wav. file.

    Let me know if you still have a problem

  5. The version of Unimodem in Win NT/2000/XP does not support distinctive ring. Does that mean it is impossible for distinctive ring detection to work properly with IVM using these operating systems?

    I have a modem that somewhat supports distinctive ring (Creative DI5633). It doesn't give the RingA/RingB/RingC or Ring1/Ring2/Ring3 responses, but instead shows unique DRON/DROF sequences for each of my three distinctive ring numbers. I presume IVM would easily be able to use this information to distinguish the three rings if it had a direct mode of communication in addition to the TAPI mode. (It doesn't have a direct mode, does it?)

    Of course, I'm not going to give up using Windows XP so is it even possible with a voice modem for IVM to distinguish distinctive ring numbers? If so, which modem is known to work and how does it work since this information isn't passed by Unimodem?

    Also, is it possible for IVM to launch a program during the rings that connects directly to the modem (albeit briefly), takes the DRON/DROF information, determines whether it is Ring1, Ring2, or Ring3, and then passes that information back to IVM?

    Thanks,

    Seth

    P.S. - IVM logs show all three rings reporting drn[1 (6000ms)] (or nearly 6000ms), even though they have very different DRON/DROF sequences.

    -------

    Update: 4/23/06

    By the way, I turned my DRON/DROF distinctive ring modem into a normal distinctive ring modem by adding to the following binary values to the registry key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

    \Unimodem\DeviceSpecific\Creative Modem Blaster V.92 PCI DI5633::Creative::Creative\Responses

    "<cr><lf>DRON=19<cr><lf>"=hex:18,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

    "<cr><lf>DRON=9<cr><lf>"=hex:19,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

    "<cr><lf>DRON=5<cr><lf>"=hex:1a,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

    I chose DRON=19, DRON=9, and DRON=5 because these appear only in Rings 1, 2, and 3, respectively. (These values need to be customized -- I opened Program\Accessories\Communications\Hyperterminal to determine these.) The binary codes on the right are for Ring 1, Ring 2, and Ring 3, respectively.

    I also removed the standard reponses

    "<cr><lf>DRON =x"=hex:91,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

    "<cr><lf>DROF =x"=hex:92,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

    from the registry key

    Now, looking at the modem log (using the Modem Control Panel), I see correct responses to various rings. For example, to Ring 2:

    04-23-2006 00:17:09.421 - Recv: <cr><lf>DRON=9<cr><lf>

    04-23-2006 00:17:09.421 - Interpreted response: Distinctive Ring 2

    UNFORTUNATELY, IVM still registers all rings with the drn[1 (6000ms)]. Why? I presume because this wonderful Distinctive Ring N (N=1,2,3) information is not passed by Unimodem to IVM!

    Does anyone know of any case where IVM has distinguished DRNs in WinNT/2000/XP?

    I would be happy to replace the three binary value above with any three values if they were passed by Unimodem in WinNT/2000/XP and if IVM could interpret these responses as drn[1 ()], drn[2 ()], and drn[3 ()].

    The only way to accomplish distinctive ring answering using IVM is to put a distinctive ring router ahead of the modem/voice board. You will also need a voice board with multiple ports to answer each routed call with a different outgoing message. Let know if you need a source for ring routers or voice boards.

  6. It's unlikely that this is an IVM problem.

    To make sure: Download the wav file that IVM posted to the web page. See if it now plays from your computer.

    It could be many things so email me if this doesn't provide a solution

  7. The phone number is 11 separate digits 6-5-0-2-5-3-1-2-1-2 not a single number such as six billion five hundred and two million five hundred thirty one thousand two hundred and twelve.

    Having this announced is worthless. By the time I figure out what number just dialed from across the room, the caller has already left a message and moved on. With having the dashes work as seperation, there is a fighting chance that we can understand the number. I personally just turn it off all together and use a seperate speaking caller ID box designed to announce the number correctly.

    CID is formated for reading not speaking. I understand the complexity of seperating numbers from names to announce correctly, so I assume this was just an extra feature somebody through in and is not a key feature. However, a little effort to confront this issue would have been nice.

    OK - I see your problem. Do you recognize the customer by the Caller-ID? If so there are a couple of ways to work around this.

    Let me know and I'll see if I can help

  8. I have an Intel 537EP modem, it is TAPI compliant. I have one phone line with 2 numbers and I will be adding a 3rd number to this line, so I don't want to use software based (minimum ring interval). I have 2 OGM, one for each line. I get 2 different DRN's reported in the log file, 4012 and 6078 (end 2 numbers  do vary a little bit from each call). In Settings I am using hardware based distinctive ring.

    In the 'Default Answering Message' I checked 'Use number ID Validity Checking' and selected Distinctive Ring. I want the short ring to go to 'My New OGM', so I tried:

    If DRN starts with 40 skip to 'My New OGM'

    and

    If DRN doesn't start with 40 skip to 'Default Answering Message'

    In both cases, it will route one of the rings correctly, but the other goes to the wrong OGM.

    It seems as though my modem is detecting the DRN correctly, as the numbers change in the log file. Can anyone offer some other advice?

    Send me a copy of log and I'll try to help, also what version of IVM - alan@norstarservice.com

  9. I've been there. The only things that I can set are as follows:

    General Tab:

    ->Data Connection Preferences

    -->Port Speed (115200)

    -->Data Protocol (Standard EC)

    -->Compression (Enabled)

    -->Flow Control (Hardware)

    Advanced Tab:

    ->Hardware Settings

    -->Data Bits (8)

    -->Parity (None)

    -->Stop Bits (1)

    Things in the brackets are the values that they are currently set to. Any idea what I need to change. There is no place for me to add in any init strings for AT commands here.

    Thanks!

    I think your best bet is to get a different board - sorry

  10. I'm evaluating and would love to use this software, but transfers are not working with Vonage US.  I see this is a recurring problem.  Does anyone have transfers working with Vonage?  If so, how can I make it work?

    Incoming calls are answered correctly, transfers play a ringtone, but the transfer never occurs.  IVM eventually disconnects.

    Thanks for any help!

    You need a centrex line functionality to do a transfer - I don't believe any IP based service can provide this. You can test by answering a call from a handset - then do a hookflash - If you don't get a dialtone it cant be done

  11. The software can use MP3 format

    You can have multiple users

    I haven't done one myself- but I'd be willing to

    Please contact me at my email address alan@norstarservice.com

  12. Alan,

    Unfortunately I only use this with a smartlink voice modem (www.smlink.com). Any chance you can help with this? Thanks!

    Chris

    Under the menu- settings/devices/properties there's an option to configure your TAPI hardware. You should be able to make the adjustments from there - good luck!

  13. :unsure:

    I would like to use this software only to simple transfer a incoming call on mine cellular phone. And I would like that music with commercial messages plays during connection to cellular phone - is this possible with IVM?

    Thank you for answer in advance.

    In order to transfer a call from a land-line to a cell phone - your land line must be a Centrex line - call your phone line provider to find out.

    You can then accomplish the transfer using IVM. You will be able to play a commercial message and then transfer te call to your cell.

  14. Dear friends, I am testing my callplan programmed on ivm.  The start ogm is set to capture the first 6 dtmf digits and assign them into a variable called account.  On using the simulator everything works ok, but on connecting the modem the ivm will not detect all the dtmf digits received on the line.  Should I configure Tapi device hardware for the intel 92v external (Md5660) modem.  Could anyone help please?  Would you please provide your advice?  Thanks in advance ;)

    :rolleyes: Yes this is a modem problem and if your modem has the capability to tweak the DTMF sensitivity - that should enable you to solve the problem.

    email me if you need help.

  15. Yes it can do this provided that you are only podcasting voice and not video.

  16. Hi Guys,

    I'm a registered user currently using 2.31. If I download 2.41, will it install correctly over 2.31 & maintain my current licensing information?

    Regards,

    Chris

    My Opinion;

    Stick with what you've got if it's working for you - is there a must have feature you need in the upgrade? If not, you may save yourself some headaches.

  17. OK, so I have gone through the manual pretty thoroughly and I cannot figure out how to change or record a new outgoing message remotely by telephone.  Is it possible to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Pepster

    :) It's quite simple once you know how (isn't everything). Save your application as an IVR file and send it to me - I'll make the necessary corrections for you.

    DNIS

    Does anyone know if the software supports/handles DNIS?  We are looking to have virtual phone numbers and need to identify what number the user dialed at the receiving location.

    Regards,

    pd

    :huh: I've not run into that requirement before, however, you can download and test it quite quickly. Even if it doesn't - there are other ways to accomplish what you need - may require another piece of hardware

  18. You can easily accommodate 64 lines using Dialogic telephony boards available in a 16, 32 or 64 port density - it is irrelevant if they are incoming or outgoing.

    I suggest starting with a 16 port board as you can add another when you need it. Don't use any other make of boards if you need reliability

    Let me know if you need help or where to buy new or used boards

  19. Hi, does anyone know if the dialogic DTI/212-UK telephony board is TAPI complient and that it works or not with NCH IVM many thanks.

    Also would further hardware be needed for incoming lines?

    Thanks.

    :) If the board supports TAPI it will work perfectly - check the Intel websiteif you're not sure

    send me an email if you need help
