whenever i play wav files, it is asking for a codec, inspite of a codec installed in the system. pls let me know where i can download a codec compatible with expressscribe and vista

i have tried opening manually, but it just stays frozen. pls advise

hi! i downloaded express scribe and installed in my system. unfortunately, it is only playing back files in dss format. i have gone to the 'files' tab and clicked the .wav option and clicked 'ok', but as soon as i am coming out of the settings mode, it is no longer saving the choices, and maybe that is why nt playing wav files. pls pls tell me what i need to do
