  1. I just started having something strange happen where when I take my foot off the pedal and it should go back a few seconds, it takes more than a few seconds for the sound to start again, and sometimes it goes back further than I wanted. It is really hard to describe what it's doing, but it's driving me crazy. It doesn't happen every time I take my foot off, but it's happening enough. Does anyone know if my foot pedal could be going out? I haven't changed any settings lately. Help, please!! Thanks

  2. Oh, great. I thought it was my settings. Yes, it is a huge pain, especially in the foot, and I'm really disgusted that I paid to upgrade so I could transcribe video, but then that wouldn't work, and now this. Seriously, it needs fixed now!! I'm going to try sending them an email. If I find out anything, I'll let you know, and please do the same.

  3. I recently upgraded to a paid version, 5.59, and ever since then my foot pedal isn't rewinding like it used to. I have to tap it over and over to get it to go back to a certain spot. I lost all of my settings when I upgraded, and I thought I knew what they were, but maybe I'm wrong. I am posting below what I have. Can anyone please let me know if you have different settings that might work better??

    Default slow playback speed: 50

    Default fast playback speed: 150

    Auto backstop on stop: 2000

    Mode: Increasing speed

    Rewind: 500, 230, 1000

    Forward: 500, 230, 1000

    Thanks,

  4. Hi: Can someone please help me? I need to change the way the time displays. When I go under settings where it has the time display, the box to choose what type of time you want to display is grayed out, so I can't change it. Does anyone know why and what I can do to change it?

    Thanks

  5. Right click on the file and select properties. Up the top there should be an entry called "Type of file:". This should tell you exactly what kind of file it is.

If it doesn't show up in Express Scribe when you browse for it this suggests that it isn't recognising the file format. You can try dragging this file directly into the Express Scribe window and see if it loads this way. Alternatively try opening the file with Switch, and then convert it into a .wav (or .mp3 file).

  6. I am trying to load a dictation filed that I had, which was a streaming MP3 file, at least I think that is what it would be called. Sorry, I'm not good at this stuff. I somehow managed to copy it and put it on my Desktop and in My Documents, but I can't figure out how to load it into Express Scribe so I can use my foot pedal to transcribe it. When I go into My Documents it shows that it is there and it also shows it on the Desktop, but when I go to load it in Express Scribe and search those two spots, it doesn't show it as being there.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
