  1. EDITED: I figured it out, but I don't know how to delete this post. Apologies. It's my first time using the fade feature, so it's likely I'm doing something wrong, but I did a fade in and out at the beginning and the end of an audio file. When I replay the entire clip while still in Wavepad it seems successful, I can hear both fades. But then I saved the clip and tested it in other software (Media Player) and there's no fade in or out. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
  2. Hey Frank, Figures. Well, thanks for the update. They didn't specify that it was a Realtek issue when I emailed them. And of course my brand spanking new laptop has that. I really don't understand why they wouldn't mention this on the purchase page if it's a known compatibility issue. I wonder if their other programs have the same issue, I had originally planned to buy several more, but I'm not going to throw away my money again, that's for sure. Thanks for taking the time to update us, I for one really appreciate it!
  3. Thank you; I did try this, from another article that led me to the same setting. No luck. I ended up changing SOMETHING in my audio settings that ended up fixing the Debut (video software) issue, but it didn't help Soundtap. Unfortunately I can't remember now what I changed. Also, with their WavePad recording software, which I also have, it only works if I plug in my USB webcam and it will use that mic. Otherwise it will not record with the built-in mic. So the three programs can't seem to get on the same page with audio settings and at this point I'm apprehensive to change much because I'm afraid to mess up the video recording, which is most important to me. I'm convinced that there's no reason all three programs shouldn't work, I just can't figure it out.
  4. Lakes Region here. 😄 Lucky that you're getting a refund at least. FYI, right on the purchase page it says: Works on Windows 11, 7, 8, 8.1 & 10 So it DOES say it's compatible with Win 11 (and that's even their own bold font, ironically, LOL). Take care neighbor! If you end up finding other software you like for recording live streaming audio, let me know!
  5. Hi Frank, are you in New Hampshire? Just curious, because I'm also in NH. Anyway, I have not found a solution, which is maddening, so I'm unable to use Soundtap and my old laptop no longer works, so I can't even use it on that. So basically, I bought Soundtap and only used it a few times and am out that money. Tech support did reply to me, and we had several exchanges but mostly about Debut (for recording video) which also wasn't working. I finally gave up on the communication with tech support because I kept getting handed over to someone new who would start over with me and not pick up where I left off with the last person. I eventually figured out a workaround for Debut, but I never did get Soundtap to work. Tech support did say that there's some sort of "known audio issue" with some PC's with Soundtap but offered no solution (or condolences). I also have Wavepad which was fine on Win 10 and had trouble with Win 11, although I managed to find a workaround for that too. It's really unfortunate because I was planning to purchase several more software programs but now I won't because I'm afraid they too will have issues.
  6. This didn't work for me sadly, I got excited for a minute. Anyone know of any other workarounds? I'm trying to read all the posts to see what the issue is; all I know is that I just bought a new latop with Win 11 (instead of my old one w/ Win 10) and now neither Soundtap or Debut will record sound. I just purchased both programs a few months ago, I'm so bummed. Any other suggestions?
  7. Hi, can you tell me how to do that? When I uninstalled and reinstalled, I didn't get an option to "install as Administrator", it just installed without any options. I am not able to record sound in either Debut (for video) or Soundtap. I just got a new PC with Win 11. Before that, both worked flawlessly on Win 10 on my old laptop. I'm going bananas trying to figure out how to fix this.
  8. Hello, I hope someone will be able to help me. I had Debut on my old laptop (5+ years old laptop with Windows 10) and it worked perfectly, never an issue. I just bought a brand new laptop with Windows 11 and am having trouble. When recording a video, the playback does a few different things: 1. There's no sound at all, or 2. There's no sound for about 10 seconds, then it makes a beeping sound (similar to the sound it makes when it starts recording, but not quite) and then begins playing the audio but it's garbled and/or choppy, or 3. Sometimes both, weirdly. For example: I've moved forward in the video to check the audio to see if it's garbled/choppy all the way through, then I can move back to the beginning of the video and there might be no sound at all now, when a moment earlier the same section had garbled audio. Sometimes the video doesn't match with the garbled audio (off by a few seconds or choppy visually), although that's also random and not always the case. Other times the video is smooth and perfect, but there's just no audio at all, as though it's muted. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which happens when, garbled sound or no sound at all seem random, even on the same video replay. The only thing that has been consistent is that I have not yet had proper audio replay on the new laptop, not even a single time. With Debut that is, everything else is fine. I tried searching this forum and tried suggestions found here for similar problems. Here are some things I've already tried that have not worked, although I will be happy to try any of these again if someone suggests it, in case I made a mistake. 1. I went to Options>Audio and unchecked 'microphone' (I think I want that unchecked anyway, right? I do not want to record my voice or my room, only online video audio from the same laptop). 2. I went to Options>Video and changed the FPS (Frames per Second) to various things, both higher and lower. I left it at 24. I don't recall if that was default or not, I may have read somewhere that it's ideal. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. 3. I changed Video to 'H264 (native) and audio to 'mp3' I THINK. I can't find the setting for that now, I tried it one night when I was tired, so I'm not sure if I did it correctly and haven't been able to find it again. 4. I changed the Speakers from 'MMDevice' to 'Filter Driver'. It's now back to MMDevice. 5. I've tried both live streams and random Youtube video, but that doesn't seem to be a factor. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. If you'd be so kind, please give me a rough idea how to navigate to any settings I should change, I am not very savvy with this software and its interface. Thanks so much!
