  1. I just received a CallURL 2LV+ with EasyTAPI verson 3.0.0.

The board works and IVM answers the phone. However, Caller ID is always "Unavailable" (I do have Caller ID on my phone line). Also, when I run Diag32 I get the error "Cannot Allocate Channel"

Has anyone had these issues? If so what did you do to solve them

    Hello,

Ok with regards to caller display... is your callurl board connected directly to the public telephone network or does it go through a pbx? have you tried another phone on the line that supports caller id to check it's working?

Do you know what type of caller display your telephone company uses? if you don't where abouts in the world are you and who is your service provider? - might be able to make an educated guess!

Diag32 is a seperate program, you can only have one program accessing your board at any given time. Make sure you have closed IVM down completely (including from system tray) and then try again...

    Cheers

  2. Hi,

I'm testing this wonderful software to create an IVR.

    There's only a thing I can't do.

I need to do something according a value inserted by the user.

Just like, please insert your password. I password is right go forward otherwise disconnect.

I found it's possibile testing only cid did and drn. How can I test any other variable?

I would like to buy this software, but I need to do something like it.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi Maurizo,

    This is possible.

Have a look at the information surrounding plugins on the site, when you've done that pop back if you need more help... I'm sure someone (if not myself) would be able to point you in the right direction

    Cheers

  3. Anybody?

    Hi,

How many lines do you have on your IVM?

I can't think of any proper way of doing this through IVM - but there may be a crude way if you only have one line.

What information would you need to be passed? just the level of support or would you need more data?

    Cheers

    Adam

  4. This is the setup I would like.

    Press 1 for general info.

Press 2 to talk to an agent.

If 1 is pressed, the caller hears the prepared speech and the call ends. The telephone that's connected to the modem does not ring ever during this sequence.

If 2 is pressed, the telephone that's connected to the modem starts ringing, so I can pick up. If I do not pick up, it goes to an OGM for alternate selections, instead of going to the answering machine that's built-in to the telephone.

    Is this possible?

If not, the least I need is to know when the caller presses 2, since I really need to talk to those callers.

    I would appreciate the support.

    Thank you.

PS: I paid for the Gold Technical Support. Does anyone know how to utilize this? Do I email them with the questions?

    Hello,

It's not going to be possible to transfer the call to the local modem extension by making it ring. (you would need a pbx to do this)

    What you could do...

Create another OGM - call this localtransfer (or whatever you want)

Record a 30 second OGM ('Please hold whilst we try to connnect you to an operator') or you could have a ringing tone (make sure this lasts about 30 seconds to give you enough time to get to the phone)

On the ADVANCED tab of the OGM set a short (5/10 second) audio file to play using the 'Announce Call through speakers by playing mp3/wav' option. (you don't want this to be longer as it doesn't stop when the 'IVM' clears down)

On the KEY RESPONSE tab of the OGM set the type to 'Menu - single key press'

then set the '#' button to 'hang up immeadiate'

On the MESSAGE tab of the OGM set the 'wait' field to 0... 'repeat' field to 0 and 'then' field - to the option you want if you do not answer the phone.

    ......

    How it works...

Point option '2' to speak to an agent to your new OGM (created above)

Your computer will play an audio file locally to tell you there is a caller who wants to speak to you

The IVM will play a please hold message to your caller.

If you do not answer the call the caller will pass to the option you specified when the please hold message has ended (remember you made this message 30 seconds long to give you enough time to get there)

IF YOU ANSWER THE CALL - if you are lucky the ivm will disconnect automatically, otherwise you use your '#' button on your phone to clear the please hold message by instructing the IVM to hang up.

    I hope this makes sense

Feel free to ask for clarification

    Cheers

    Adam

ps I'm not sure how you contact 'gold support' sorry

  5. Sorry, the previous message was incomplete...

    Hi,

I use IVM Answering Atendant with VOIP, but I don't understand how you can actually talk to the caller once they have navagated to the right place. How do I set this option in an OGM? I don't want to transfer a call to a different line, but if I did do would I have to pay for this call?

    Thanks

    Adam

If you x'frd the call to a normal number (ie non voip) you would have to pay for the call charges at your voip network operators rates.

Alternatively, you would need to purchase a VOIP terminal (a phone with a network port as opposed to a standard line plug - this would connect to your network) or a VOIP terminal adaptor - small versions look like a dsl router and normally have a net through port and two phone connectors (for normal phones), or install a softphone on a computer - NCH do one!

Whatever solution you choose - you would need a voip account for it, with this you would be assigned an extension number...

IVM would have to transfer the call to the voip extension number - calls between voip extensions are usually free (especially if they are supplied by the same SP)

    Hope this helps

    Adam

  6. I use IVM with VOIP (3 lines), I was wondering if I can create a call queue for when the caller is waiting for the phone to be answered or when there is a caller ahead of them.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I don't think this is possible in the IVM system.

Have you considered using http://www.asterisk.org/ - an open source pbx?

You could have the ivm filtering your calls and then xfer them to your call queue on asterisk?

You could bounce between the two systems and come up with a very powerful solution!

Hope this helps - or at least gives you an idea

  7. I recently started to use IVM for my business voicemail, it works great. I noticed that it only seems to record about 30 or so of the icoming message and cuts people off. I have looked to see if there is a setting for this. Is there something that I am missing?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    1. Go into the settings menu from the main screen (the word 'settings' or the hammer/screwdriver icon)

    2. Select the 'Transfer/Record' tab

    3. At the bottom you should see a section titled 'Recording Messages'

    4. Adjust the value in the 'Maximum Record Time' as required

    Cheers

  8. I'm making a lot of outbound messages.  When I use only one voice modem, the system works fine, but when I use more than one modem the system goes so much slow, and each call gets the "not answered" response.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this?

Whats the spec of your pc? processor/memory/operating system

Do you have any other programs/services running in the background?

What type of modem do you have? are the drivers capable of supporting more than one modem per computer?

  9. Hi

Can someone help about how to print a memo at realtime using information gathered by ivm?

    Like this senario:

We want to print Caller's ID with name and address from a DB and print it instantly without user interferance.Provided that I Know how to get the information from Db.Thanks

    Hi,

As far as I am aware - you will not be able to do this directly from IVM.

You would need to write your own pluggin to get the information from the database and trigger a print event...

To ensure the pluggin returns before your OGM finishes it would potentially be worth writing two exes.

The first to query the database and find the callers information. (this would finish quickly and return to the ivm.

The second to print the information. (this would be called by the first exe but execute outside the constraints of ogm duration, data could be passed as command line - or just the record number so the second exe can find it.)

You could do this as one exe but i've experienced problems with programs hanging due to printer spooling in the past.

Drop me a private message if you get stuck or need a hand.

  10. Hi all,

When a customer dials to my office while my staff is talking with another customer on the line, my staff will hear some "do-do-do" indicating somebody is calling. This often happens so I want that any incoming calls will be redirected to a voice mailbox to let the customers leave a voice message if the line is occupied at that moment.

How I can implement this feature using IVM answer attendant.

    Thanks a lot!

Sounds like you've got one line with call waiting? (do-do-do) being the call waiting beep?

To use the ivm you'd need to get another line installed and then have a 'network divert on busy' service on your first line to pass all calls from busy line1 to line2 where your ivm would be waiting.

    - if you don't want the expense of second line and have broadband - consider voip! it's not as difficult as people try to make out!

  11. I think it must be the IVM program that is causing this problem. Maybe something to do with the DTMF tones that it recognises. There must be a difference in UK DTMF tones and US ones

I have also been using Express Talk from this company and when I call a voicemail system with that software the DTMF tones it produces are not recognised by the voicemail system. When I use a service such as Skype to access the same voicemail system it works perfectly.

I will not be paying £80 for this software until it supports DTMF tones from the UK.

    Fred

I've had the same problem with sipgate

    Try gradwell.co.uk

They have some decent solutions - including a well priced centrex option.

    DTMF works fine with them.

Looking at the logs with sipgate... it would appear that it is indeed sipgate that has the problem with the dtmf tones.

If you call from a normal phone and then hang up - the ivm usually picks it up straight away.

If you call from a normal phone through a sipgate connection and use dtmf signalling the ivm doesn't realise that the call has been disconnected for some time!

Dont' think this one is nch's fault!

can any one please help me? I was able to get IIS running on my system and since iam used to running asp pages, I choose to use asp instead of php and I have setup a simple database and want ivm to access and read out values, on my ivm test log everything works out fine as stated below

please help. my email is cwebatm@yahoo.com

probably worth checking you have got the % marks either side of the variable name.

does voice synthesis work in other areas of your ivr?

  13. Hello,

I hope someone can help me out with this problem I've been having. I have a CallURL TAPI card with 4 phone lines. What I want to do is accept calls on the first line, and transfer the calls depending option chosen at the IVR. The transfers will be to external telephone numbers and/or cell phones. Calls are answered by the IVM, but I can't get the call to transfer out.

For instance, I have OGM menu option 1 set to transfer the call to 3235551212. When I choose that option, the phone at 3235551212 will ring, get the message that there is a call tranfer, but when they press 1 to accept the transfer, the call get disconnected.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction to a solution for this.

Thanks for your time and help.

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

To transfer calls in the uk (I'm not sure if its the same where you are) you need either a centrex telephone line or pbx (telephone system), normal lines can't transfer calls.

If I were to setup the same system that you have and perform the same action I too would have the problem of the line cutting off after pressing 1 to accept the transfer.

Our lines over here give the impression that you can transfer calls (ie you can put a call on hold and make another) but that is to support the public three way calling function.

It's possible it's the same where you are...

    just a thought

    good luck

    Adz

  14. I have two lines, and one system of OGMs that both of the lines use.

At the end of the OGM sequence, I want the user to record to different mailboxes depending on the number/line they called.

I know I could achieve this by duplicating the set of OGMs and assign it to different lines, or have the user manually enter the mailbox number.

However, I was wondering if it's systematically possible to redirect to multiple mailboxes from one OGM by detecting the line number.

This will save me duplicating hundreds of OGMs manually. I would greatly appreciate any help.

    Hi Sangbin.

    This is easily do-able...

What you need to do is make use of the variable %linenumber% or %linename%

    Option1

When you add a device (voip or physical) you have to give them a name, you can find it in settings...

e.g. line one is called "Yellow Pages" line two is called "Local Paper"

You will have to name your two mail boxes exactly the same as each of the lines

e.g. mailbox one is now called "Yellow Pages" mailbox two is called "Local Paper"

In the ogm or menu item that fires the caller towards the voicemail boxes you need to set the name of the mailbox to %linename%. (this is a system variable)

    ....

    how it works.

Caller dials in and ivm recognises which line the caller is on.

Caller goes through all of your messages until it is time to record something from them.

We have an ogm or a menu option pointing towards a mailbox.

We have told the ivm to point towards %linename%

Ivm realises that this is a system variable and rather than looking for a mailbox called %linename% it looks for a mailbox which matches the actual line name. (in the example above - messages from the yellow pages number would go to the yellow pages mailbox and so on"

    ...

    Option 2

Call you mailboxes "1" and "2" (no inverted commas though!)

Point your 'Leave message for mailbox' mailbox id as %linenumber%

If you need a hand drop me a message (let me know how you get on!)
