How do you insert a note between notes ???

I guess I figured it out. I had set the max # of measures per line to 4 .... but it didn't change the layout ..... but .... I did it again (from a different angle) and it put 4 measures on a line. I do think that should be the default ... even your introductory tutorial has one measure per line ...

#1 - I just started using Crescendo, and I'm able to write one measure per line, but can't get 4 measures per line. #2 - how to insert a note between notes?
