  1. I need to stabilize so video and this http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_stabilisation.html shows that it should be in the right click menu or under Effects but it's not in either. Has it been taken away? -0- Never mind! I have to right click on it in the Video Media bin and not on the timeline. Maybe this will help someone someday so I'll leave it here! Thanks! Phil
  2. Thanks. I'm home now and just tried repairing the program (go to uninstall and then repair) to no avail. I will now totally remove it and reinstall but I don't have high hopes. Any other thoughts would be so welcome as this is my more powerful machine and I want to be able to use it. Well, that cured it. Uninstalled, reinstalled and now it works. I wonder what it was.
  3. Hi, it is the brand new V16 that I bought yesterday. I have just tried doing it on V15 that I have on my other laptop and it works perfectly. I am now going to upgrade this machine and see if it still does it correctly or not. -0- I just upgraded to the latest V16 on this (the other) laptop and it still works perfectly. I opened the piece I uploaded and did as you suggest, I zoomed in on the transition, hit the X, hit No Transition, hit it again, hit cross fade and it put the transition straddling the cut and fades as I would want it to so it is just happening on my machine at home. I wonder what could possibly cause it on one machine but not the other. Could there be a preference?
  4. Thanks so much for this. I tried what you suggested to no avail and so have uploaded it here. Actually, this is just a new, test piece I did specifically. I dragged the first piece on. I dragged from the right hand end so there would be spare footage before the end of the clip. I dragged the second piece on I dragged from the left hand end so there would be spare footage before the beginning of the clip. I clicked on Add Video Transition on the timeline, between the two clips. I chose Cross Fade. The grey line is only shown on the end of the first clip. The second clip is frozen until the transition ends and then starts playing. Thanks and I look forward to your thoughts. I appreciate your time. Phil
  5. Hi all, I have two clips. Both have space before they cut in to add a fade. I click on the little icon and choose a time but all the fade appears before the cut and then, during the cross fade, the image from the second clip is frozen until the fade is complete. You can see that the second clip is frozen until fully faded in. Why would that be and can it be avoided in any way other than putting it on a separate track? Thanks for any help and I hope this makes sense. Phil
  6. Well, how odd. I installed the release you attached (I didn't think to check which version it was before) and now it works. I can't imagine this would be the first version to include those fade points but whatever the case is, thank you and now I am all set! Thanks again, I really appreciate the help. Phil
  7. Thanks for this but this is just the problem. I don't have the option to do that. I'm not sure how you embedded the video in your response so I have uploaded a video of what I'm seeing... https://www.dropbox.com/s/p6zigt8sv5csoem/ScreenHunter 21.mp4?dl=0 I'm stumped. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any more help! Phil
  8. Hi all, this is frustrating! I want to fiddle with audio points but there are none! All video tutorials I watch just show them existing but I can't see them... https://www.dropbox.com/s/6jywuv9gbl0c330/2023-07-08 2484 Screenshot.png?dl=0 I can right click and fade in and out but I can't manually adjust. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help you can offer. Phil
  9. Hi all, I'm not sure how to search for this since it always shows me how to move a slide's position on the timeline. I have a landscape format show with some portrait format images leaving an empty background left and right of the image. I have added a background image but I would like to move the foreground image left or right (not necessarily animated, just a change of position) just for some variety. Is such a thing possible? Thanks! Oh, I'm on the latest version. Phil
