  1. Hi. Can anyone help please? I want to play a 2-minute clip through at normal speed and then slow it down over the last five seconds or so until the final frame is frozen still. I will then slowly fade that final frame. Is that possible in VideoPad?
  2. Sorry, Borate, I have only just read this helpful suggestion. I am in contact with NCH Software and they say they are aware of the problem and their developers are trying to create a fix.
  3. Good suggestion. Will do. Thank you, Borate.
  4. Hi, Borate, and thanks for the suggestions. I have VideoPad professional vs 11.08. I really don't pretend to understand everything that's going on under the bonnet, but it would seem to be a fundamental flaw of the software if the video that is carefully prepared and looks fine in preview is then changed (in any way) when exported to become the final version of that video. All the videos I am currently preparing are 1920 x 1080 HD for YouTube. Is it possible that I am selecting the wrong export parameters. I am choosing YouTube 1080 HD mp4; Letterbox widescreen fit; variable frame rate (min 14.985 fps - max 19.970fps). The fps choice is only selected because it seems to be offered by default for that YouTube setting, but I am happy to explore other constant rates (>24fps).
  5. I've come across what appears to be a worrying problem when exporting videos - so, when rendering the final version of a video. Playing back the final version of the video, the vertical alignment (and it only seems to be vertical) of some (but not all) the text has dropped down. I think it is only affecting the text. In the case of a video I have just put together, different text is revealed at different points in the video and its positioning needs to be precise. It all looks absolutely fine, and exactly as I have set it up, when playing it back in the editor, but the rendering process is changing how it looks in the final exported video. I have now tested this three times and I get the same result. Worrying.
  6. OK, Borate, thanks. Understood; I'll give that a go. Rowland
  7. Hi, again, Borate. Just following-up on your suggestion, I created the second Sequence but I can't see how/where to add an effect to that sequence, seeing as though it's blank (empty). I guess I must be missing something.
  8. Thanks, Borate. Very helpful, as always. I had tried (1), but didn't know about (2); so I will certainly try that. Rowland
  9. I've come across an interesting problem. I have compiled a short video which comprises one video clip and two text overlays. Normally I would fade these all down together at the end, in the usual way, and all would be well. But, in this case, I have slowed down the the video clip to about 25% of its normal speed. This all works fine until the playback reaches the LEADING EDGE of the three fade downs at the end. The video then judders and sticks until the sequence finishes playing - it continues playing, but with the video clip frozen. I put the video clip back to its normal speed and the fade-down at the end worked fine. So the software seems to be struggling with the combination of playing back the video at a slower speed and carrying out the three fades (one video clip and 2 text overlays) at the same time. Any thoughts, please?
  10. Is it possible to stop what seems to be automatic snapping when moving clips within the timeline (although I can't see what it's snapping to). I have read on this forum that pressing the Alt key as you drag the clip within the timeline achieves this, but it didn't seem to work for me. I need to position clips quite precisely (I guess we all do), especially for cross fades, etc., but getting clips exactly where they need to be appears difficult. Any suggestions, please?
  11. Many thanks, Borate. I had seen those FX options, but couldn't remember where. I was impressed to see that it can rotate to such fine margins. That is going to be helpful. And I've now also found the "Scale" option for re-sizing after rotation. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Thanks again.
  12. Hi, Can anyone tell me whether it's possible to tilt, crop or otherwise adjust a video in the Sequence Preview window within VideoPad Professional, please? I have just put a video together and seen that the horizon is leaning to one side and needs straightening! It's something I can easily do in my mobile phone, so I hope it is possible in VideoPad. Thanks.
