Guest jp
I record to 24-bit wav files in my sequencer and need to edit them in wavepad. I try opening them and it says the required ACM codec isn't installed. I tried opening the file in windows media player, but it says that the class isn't registered, presumably there isn't such a codec. Is there anything I can do? nchtj
yeah sorry we don't support anything greater than 16-bit audio at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't too many apps that did support 24-bit audio editing.

Guest Gboy
Cheers for the reply. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, ALL the ones I know of do, Editors like Soundforge, wavelab, cooledit... Most of the newer media players playback 24 bit too, inc foobar
nchtj
information I have learned since my last post is that we do offer the ability to open 24/32 bit files, but you have to explicitly ask us for it first. We don't support saving to 24/32 bit though, so bear that in mind. Can you really tell the difference between a 16 bit and 24 bit file though? I have seen studies to suggest the difference in terms of what you hear is minimal at best...
