System crashing constantly and not recognising my sound devices

Hi

Can anyone advise? I've had this software 3 weeks ( Wavepad v9 licenced copy) and been using it fine to create content for an internet radio show. Yesterday when I opened a half completed show (Mp3 file) the system just crashed whenever I click play or record. It says " The recording has failed to start please check your sound devices are connected to your computer and turned on" I've spent hours going round in circles check sound devices are on and testing in Wavepad, programme files etc and they seem to be working according to my laptop/ system. Anyone any advice? I've a deadline I'm working to so this is now getting stressful.

I have tried reinstalling and even uninstalling the software to see if this would fix it.  Even when I downloaded the unlicensed free version I'm having the same problem.

Please help!

In attempt to fix this issue, please try the steps below:

Uninstall WavePad, then delete 3 folders named "WavePad" and 1 named "Components" from these locations:
**C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\WavePad\
**C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\WavePad\
**C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components
**C:\ProgramData\NCH Software\WavePad\
**If you can't find any of the folders, just continue.

After that, restart your computer and reinstall the program using this link: https://www.nch.com.au/components/wpsetup.exe

Once done, restart your system one more time.

You may need to re-register the program again.
