After system recovery, foot pedal only works with welcome message

Hello -

 

I've used Express Scribe for three years without problem. My computer crashed recently, and I performed a system recovery and reinstalled all my programs.

 

I downloaded Express Scribe and set up my foot pedal, but it will only work with the "welcome" message that comes with Express Scribe. When I download my own files (and they appear to load into Express Scribe properly), the foot pedal will not work.

Solved my problem with advice from another post.....THANK YOU

 

right clicked on the Express Scribe icon on the desktop

Click on Properties

Choose Compatibility Tab

At the bottom, if you click on the link to "learn more about program compatibility", it will take you to a compatbility wizard.

 

I'm running on Windows XP, but that was not a listed option on the drop-down menu, so I chose Windows 2000.
