Ontrails
I am using WavePad 3.11 unlicenced basic free version (a Newbie question). There doesn't seem to be a way to fade down (or up) to a certain volume on a track. I can only get it to fade to, or up from, zero using the Fade In or Fade Out effects tools. I want to fade from 100% down to 10%, let the track run at 10% for 12 seconds (for which I have been using the "Amplify" effect), then fade up from 10% to 100% volume again. But the Fade tools fade it all the way down to zero, then it jumps up to my "amplified" 10% level, and vice versa at the end of the 12 seconds. This leaves an annoying and unprofessional short period of silence at the end and start of each fade respectively. Is there any way to neatly fade to or from a certain level rather than zero in my version? Does the full licenced version provide this tool? Ideally, I would like to see a sliding volume control which you can use on the fly. Pretty simple I would have thought. Thanks for any help or suggestions. mistertee
I'm a new user myself but I don't think it's possible to specify the type of fade you want. The "amplify" effect can be set to a specified percentage within the selection area but it's abrupt, not a curve. That said, another program from NCH called MixPad can do exactly what you want.
