Foot pedal wizard not working correctly

I just installed version 4.21 and went through the foot pedal wizard. It has not installed correctly. I uninstalled and reinstalled ES and the foot pedals are still not working properly. I have went through the wizard at least 10 times and sometimes it wont even recognize when I release the pedal as it instructs me to during the wizard. Other times, it does recognize it but there is no stop ability with the foot pedal at all. Rewind goes back about .5 seconds and stops completely, fast forward goes forward about .5 seconds and stops completely. The play pedal when you tap it to stop, rewinds about .5 and then starts again. I really need this fixed or I need version 4.18 back so that I can continue doing my transcription reports. Please advise soon! It was working fine before I installed this newest version. Seems that others are also having issues with this as well.
