fafner
After I made some recordings selecting the sound card as source with a sampling rate of 96,000 and saving the file as wav PCM format at 48,000 KHz, 16 bit, Stereo, I listened the quality audio a little bit poor. Those recordings were made using an old Toshiba Satellite Laptop with an ESS Maestro2E PCI AudioDrive (WDM). My objective is to obtain a good quality wav files from a Music on Demand service where I am subscribed that doesn’t allows downloads, only can be listen in real time trough its own browser. What I don’t know is if the Sound Card is a determinant piece in the final result. If that, please recommend me a really good sound card for a Desktop PC. I even thought on a Vacuum Tube PC Motherboard
mike20021969
the quality of the captured audio depends on the bit rate of the streamed music from the website. WAV/44.1/16BIT will give you the equivalent of cd quality...but only with 'cd' quality streaming (at least 128kbps.128 is usually the limit of audio steaming on the internet). your captured audio should sound as good as what you can hear it.
