keithmarris
I went on to the Windows WinHlp32.exe download page to get the patch to allow for help files to work. The only problem being that I don't know which file I am supposed to be downloading! There are two choices: Windows6.0-KB917607-x64.msu and Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu . The first is 11kb larger than the second, but other than that it doesn't mention a difference. Do I only need to download one, or do I have to donwload both? I can't seem to find any mention of there being two files anywhere, so I thought it best to ask first before downloading the wrong one. Thanks for any help you can give. Kilmatead
The first one "x64" refers to 64-Bit based versions of Windows. The "x86" is for 32-Bit versions. Most people (especially if you don't know) will have the 32-Bit version, thus you would choose the x86 patch.
Guest nchgb
To be sure, check out this "How to determine whether your computer is running a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version of the Windows operating system" KB from Microsoft: support.microsoft.com/kb/827218. Or alternatively you can just run this detection script I found: www.mvps.org/marksxp/Downloads/WinX...xp_whichcpu.vbs. Simply save the file, and then run it.
