cannot record

i have connected my mixer to my my computer and have a soundcard in there also. the problem is taht i am recieving no signal when i am trying to record onto wave lab. when i do press record a screen saying record control. i also try to record from that screen but nothing seems to happen. i have tried to configure my soundcard also but still no luck. the version that i have downloaded is a demo. could that be the problem. can someone help me??

If so sound is appearing at WavePad then it would suggest that either you've plugged the mixer into the wrong port at the back of your computer, or that your soundcard is somehow configured incorrectly. Double check the manual that would have come with your hardware for information on how to plug in audio devices such as your mixer.
