JMP644
New user to Wave Pad, I have a question related to transposing old magnetic media. These tapes were made at a 1-7/8 ips, speed that is not available on my tape deck. I made test recording played at 3-3/4 ips with the default sampling rate and tried to play at ½ speed. The result I have is that the length of recording is indeed increased (factor of 2) however; the voice is still ineligible and sounds just like being played at twice the speed. Same results occur when I tried adjusting both speed and pitch. Could it be that I need to reduce by half the sampling rate as well when I convert the file to half speed ? I could not see how I could do that as an option when I reformat the recording at ½ speed. Anyone could give me some advice into resolving this problem? Many thanks. Guest nchgb
If you play/record at a slower speed than normal and then speed it up manually in WavePad it generally works better. If you do it the other way around, you're adding in audio that never actually existing in the recording, which may have resulted in the ineligibility of the voice.
