Function Keys Don't work on new version

For some reason, since I upgraded to the latest version of express scribe, my function keys don't work. I have sent a bug report to NCH but they never got back to me. What can I do????

I am using 4.17. I belive I was using 4.16, but I am not sure. The standard function keys (hotkeys) like F10 for play and F4 for stop, do not work. I don't know what you mean by system wide. The best I could do was to get one of them working when I created a hotkey including another button like ctrl F10, but then every function key I created did the same thing even when I had it instructed to do something else. I've tried deleting all the hotkeys and creating my own, doesn't work. I've tried going back to the default, doesn't work. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled - I still can't stop and start using my function keys. It's important for me to be able to do this because I use the program for transcribing from express dictate.

Sorry, user error!!! My husband just showed me that my function key lock was pressed down. I'm an idot.
