Editing/Help Question

I just downloaded WavePad and cannot even remotely figure out how it works. I now see that when I click on the Help in the menu there's a list of areas. But with my rather minimal computer understanding and skills, I can't understand much of it. I just want to use the program to cut long files into smaller ones. I thought this would be simple, but I have no idea how to do this. Can anyone help?

Open the file up with WavePad, select the area you wish to split and then press copy, new, then paste. If you would like a simpler way, have a look at Slice: www.nch.com.au/splitter.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I was eager to try the program you suggested, but I'm a Mac user so I'm afraid it won't do me much good.
