MPEG-4 Audio file to VBR MP3

 Hi.....I'm a bit new at the MPEG-4 format. I have just that: 400 GB of lossless music. I want to convert and move a number of the music files to my internal HD so I can move them to my iPod. Obviously using them as lossless will soak up 8GB in no time. From what I have read VBR is a preferred way to convert but it may not be necessary. I'm looking for advice: does Switch convert this type of audio file and if so what would be the suggested format to convert to?

Thanks!

Al

It should convert, the best way to find out is try it for yourself. Personally I would convert it to a VBR mp3 as this provides the best quality to size ratio for music.
