ozwes007
When converting/resampling mp3 files to different bit rates I am getting really large files (10mb+) with the original file plus a looong silence tacked on the end. Any one know what could be causing this or is this another glitch with 1.29. I am running Win XP Home.
Thunder Bird
I am having a very similar problem see examples below: Original File 1 - 2,870KB 133kbs bitrate 0:02:56 Duration converted with Switch became Switch. File 1 - 4,282KB 112kbs bitrate 0:05:15 Duration (the extra duration becoming 0:02:19 of silence at the end of the song Original File 2 - 3,960KB 145kbs bitrate 0:03:43 Duration converted with Switch became Switch. File 2 - 5,909KB 112kbs bitrate 0:07:18 Duration (the extra duration becoming 0:03:35 of silence at the end of the song Original File 3 - 4,580KB 143kbs bitrate 0:04:21 Duration converted with Switch became Switch. File 3 - 6,827KB 112kbs bitrate 0:08:24 Duration (the extra duration becoming 0:04:03 of silence at the end of the song Have several similar examples which are available if anyone wishes to test this result Will now have to check all results for similar problems. Up until recently Switch was performing well. Wonder now if it is worth upgrading to the plus version.
Guest NCHDA
Just letting you guys know, I've told the developer about this issue so there should be a fix for it in the next release of Switch. You can use WavePad to cut out the silence at the end of thr tracks: http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html
Guest nchto
The problem is that your original files are using weird/invalid bitrates... Switch uses this information to determine how long the file is and hence how long to create the new file for the conversion. It makes the file according to this reported bitrate and then proceeds with the conversion. Because the bitrate is invalid, Switch will take a more cautious prediction about the length of the file which ultimately ends with the additional blank audio. If you convert a mp3 with a typical bitrate, everything works fine.
