audio files turned into doc files

I recently uploaded my music library to my website on godaddy and when I downloaded it to my new computer, I noticed that at least half of my files were now appearing as doc files instead of music files. I am unable to play them and unable to convert them. They are still the full size of the original file, but they cannot be opened by any application except text edit.

Any suggestions? Please let me know.

I just solved the problem after trying to convert them with switch a kazillion different ways, I finally just changed the suffix from doc to mp3 and they play perfectly. What a no-brainer. My bad.
