Can't Hear Sound

After trying to record something in WavePad using the line-in port on the back of my computer, I can no longer hear any sound on my computer using speakers or headphones. The recording I tried to do worked a day earlier, but the day after that, it wasn't able to record and now my whole computer can't play anything back. This happened right after I tried and failed to record something.

 

I've already tried updating/uninstalling the audio drivers, but that didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Install your audio drivers and then restart the computer. Ensure that all the right plugs are connected to the right sockets on the back of your computer, they're easily confused and you might have your speakers plugged into the wrong port. In the Windows Control Panel, select Sound and Audio Devices and go through this configuration, ensuring that each step works.
