Media Player problems with Switch conversions

I just upgraded from Switch 1.05 (free) to Switch Plus 1.26 (paid), mainly to get the m4a output option.

A couple of problems:

1. When I use the new Switch to convert either flac or wav files into m4a and then play them with Quicktime Player 7.2, there's a sort of fluttering in the amplitude, beating at maybe 10cps or so. This makes them unlistenable. If I play the same files in iTunes they sound fine. Files ripped by iTunes into m4a format play perfectly OK in Quicktime Player, so it seems to be something to do with Switch's conversion.

2. If I convert flac files to mp3 using the new version of Switch, Windows Media Player 11 won't play them. "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." The files play OK when in iTunes. I didn't have this problem with Switch 1.05.

Any ideas better than downgrading to Switch 1.05 again would be appreciated.
