Error on loading Wav file

hi im new here. i have a problem with express scribe loading a wav file. at first it asked us to install the proper codec for it to be able to open the file, so i tried opening it in windows media player and windows media player asked for the audio codec identified by the format "tag 17". so i searched the web for it and finally found one at this site. http://www.sthelens.k12.or.us/sthelens/um/um.html after downloading and running it, windows media player now CAN play the audio file (wav file) but when i tried opening it in express scribe there is an error and the express scribe would close.

 

here r the audio properties of the files.

 

Bit Rate : 32kbps

Audio sample size : 4 bit

Channels: 1(mono)

Audio sample rate: 8khz

 

we r running win xp pro.
