Theo II
I'm a total n00b: I'm new to the forum, new to WavePad, and new to sound editing in general. So I'd appreciate any words of wisdom from anyone who actually knows what they're doing around here! That said, all I want to do is record some lectures, remove the crap (background noise, clicks and pops), and amplify my material to the point where it's at a comfortable volume. That's it. So far all WavePad has managed to do successfully is record get rid of the background noise. Using the tool to remove clicks and pops has zero (and I mean ZERO) effect on the clicks and pops, and creates massive distortion in the file. Amplifying to the point where things are at a reasonable level on my regular computer speakers again creates massive distortion. I can hear just fine with the headphones, and by concentrating intently I can even hear okay on my regular speakers, but I would like a bit more than that. Amplifying up to that level does create unacceptable distortions, though. Any suggestions?
