will not read bookmarks

I just today purchased the new edition of Wavepad for my laptop. I have been using wavepad on my office computer and want to be able to edit on the road. I have a number of files with bookmarks (lectures, not music) that I have copied (with the bookmark file) to the laptop. Wavepad will open the files, display the bookmarks, and display the bookmark list, but will not go to the bookmark when I use the 'go to" from the menu or with doubleclicking the bookmark.

 

I wanted this in place for Monday, and like a fool I did not check to see that the new edition would use bookmarks from a recent edition. Please don't tell me I spent USD50 for a useless program and have no one but myself to blame!
