VEC USB pedals - How to use under wine / Ubuntu

Hi all

 

Thanks to some very helpful advice from a member this forum I understand that you can use Express Scribe (Windows version) under Wine on Ubuntu using serial pedals. I have been trying to order serial pedals from AltoEdge. (Their web site states that they are available and gives a link to their volume sales department but to date no response to my purchase request). I did previously purchase a number of VEC USB pedals but have been unable to get this version of Express Scribe to recognise them. (The pedals are functional. They are recognised by the native Linux version of Express Scribe with no extra setup. However the native Linux version doesn't work properly under recent versions of Ubuntu.)

 

Has anyone been able to get VEC USB pedals functional with the Windows version of Express Scribe running on Linux under Wine?

 

If so the details of how you did it would be very welcome.

 

Also, can anyone recommend a place that sells serial pedals and will ship the same to Australia?
