Import Olympus WMA format into WavePad Mac/Intel

I recommended to my client to get WavePad to test out but he is on a Mac. I noticed there was a Mac/Intel version and he did. He has an Olympus digital audio recorder, same as me, but he says that when he tries to "open" the WMA file, it is "grayed out" as a selection in the Mac version.

 

I am not a Mac guy, any suggestions - should WavePad be able to directly import a WMA file?
