Change Selection Start/End

I used to use the old version of wavepad when it was black/green, and I noticed it changed a lot. When I select an area of the audio file to delete, I can't change the start/end time. I'm trying to edit something out of an audio file but if I don't highlight enough of the area I have to highlight it again. It shows the start position and end position at the bottom but I can't click on it and change it anymore.
