Flat Wave Form

Just downloaded WavePad, and it's perfect for my limited needs (basic vocal recording, simple interface). I've upgraded to the most recent version. I've been running a Realtek A97 sound card right off my motherboard with a great sennheiser microphone, and while it gets the job done, I'm very interested in improving the sound quality. To that end, I've added a PreSonus Firebox external sound card that firewires right in to the computer. Strange problem, though: While I can record (I've changed the settings to specify the different input), and I can play back and hear my recording (albeit softly), I cannot see any traditional waveform. My input is set at midrange for my main level and mic input.

I'm sure this is something basic; can anyone make a suggestion? I really appreciate the help!

Hi,

Can you please list the exact model of sound card you have. I'm interested in the drivers it uses for connecting to software.
