Did you check the youtube clip? It is really bad….
-
Thanks. Here you go. I put all files in one folder
Yes I know that the original file is not perfect, some times it get "pixeled". But it is the choppy part I don't like. Take a look at the mp4, called "töjanan vs täby highlights". It looks ok, but in youtube I can hardly see the ball...

I have made highlights when my son plays floorball. I added a text picture and two songs.
the output file, a mp4 file was ok, but when i upload to youtube it gets choppy, almost as if extremely few fps are used.
Can anyone advice how i can fix this? I made another shorter video that looked ok.
Here is a link to the file on youtube.

Interesting...
Installed VP 7.11. open up the same project. Loading the cache file went in minutes. Really fast! However, same issues as before. For example in the preview, the slow motion does not work in the preview.
I then installed VP 7.04. Cache file takes forever to load and VP is almost frozen while it loads... But when it has loaded, the preview looks ok
I will go for the VP 7.04 for now!

Hi again
I uninstalled VP and deleted the data file. I then reinstalled version 7.4. Now all seems to be working.... STrange
If I have time I will once more try to install VP 7.11 and see if it works..
Could it be linked to the cache file (the green bar that takes forever to build)? That it was somewhat corrupt? And that it was deleted when I uninstalled VP. Just a thought...
-
Given that the .mp4 files were corrupt I have only used the .MTS files.
I was just interested how you could get a perfect output file, while I did not. Given we use same program my guess was that the result was because of my computer. Strangely my sons gaming computer gave the same result.
I always thought that the output would be the same, regardless of the computer, but that it would take more time if the computer is less powerful. Also, as said, I have never had these problems in the past.
Thanks for all your efforts and help. Thanks to you I have been able to post 2 videos. The comming weekend will have 5 more games. Hopefully I can try to install an older version of VP (6 or so) and try to see if all works out great.

Hi
I just transferred the project to my sons gaming computer (intel core i7), using VP 7.11. It is way faster than my stationary
It gives the same output as on my stationary. Jumpy, freezes etc...
We both have the same setting in the editing tab. the box "use hardware-accelerated video effects (Require SM 2.0 hardware)" is ticked.
I unticked, and exported the project. Same result....
-
Ok
but isn’t it strange that it worked out well before i updated VP? I have all the time used the .mts format
I will try on my sons gaming computer to see if results are the same
and yes, the converted .mp4 files were terrible. Don’t use them
can i delete all shared files? Or do you think the developers still need them?
-
Hi
Perhaps the slo mo works better if I follow your instructions. But the output file is terrible... jumpy..
I just wonder how Borat managed to get good quality. Can it be that his computer is better?
-
HI
Yes the yellow team won, my sons team. At half team the were down 3 goals, 7-4, but then they scored 6 goals in 2nd half and won 8-10!!! Great game!
The .mts files were the original files, this might explain above post. I think the .mp4 files were not working well so I propose you use the .mts files
And yes, the slow motion error is exactly as you describe. I would like to have a long transition and I would like the program to be able to support it. But you might be on to a work around
What I find strange is that the .mts files used to work well before I updated VP. Ahead of next movie I will change to a 6 version and see if it helps. Just find it strange... I will also search to see if other formats exist for my video camera.
What I also don't get is how Borat could get a perfect output file, and I got a bad one... We were both using same files. STrange...
Thank you all for your help. Hopefully this will make Videopad better in the future. I like the program, easy to work with and very intuitive for a beginner, such as myself
-
Hi, many thanks!!!
Did you look at my export file? Especially at the slow mo part?
Any idea what could have caused the errors in my output file? (I assume you are using the latest version of VP)
-
Hi again
I used a program called "Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate". I have used it before, and it easily convert files between different formats.
I have posted the original .MTS files in the link below
https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aqo5pWaBEfbFabnsWSLSKEvQeFw
I just find it strange that I have used the same format before many times and it has worked out. Now when I am using the latest version I get issues...
Thanks for taking time to help me out!
(BTW, I just tried to use Prism to convert files. Did not work at all. The new mp4 files are not usable. I just added the files and saved as .mp4. It was super quick, but the files did not work. borate, what program do you use to convert into .mp4?)
-
Again, thank you all for helping out.
I have now tried a new project. This time I only used .MTS files. Nothing got stuck, but the export movie did not look good. THis time I converted files to .mp4, and tried to record the movie again. Still issues. I have a link below. Look at the slow motion, still not working (in the output file called 2019-05-05 Sörskogen vs Täby FC.mp4)
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RYfuq4-cbK56IzGVc1IYVlvbCzHwBI-v
What am I doing wrong?
I have done several movies before. All using same .MTS files. SHould I try to go back to a version 6?
This is just soo anoying...

Glad it worked out. The developers are aware of it. Give them a few days to fetch the original from the server, should they need to do so.
The MTS files were replaced by the mp4s which, in this case, had a slightly different name.
Thus, when the project was loaded, VP couldn't resolve those files and prompted for manual intervention.
After pointing it to the new files, and deleting those not used in the production (leaving three videos), FILE|SAVE PROJECT updated the vpj control file.
Ok
so how did you do the replacement? Deleted .mts file, added a new file and the VP asked you to relink?
or did you delete the .mts files and then vp reacted and you had to point to a new file?
thanks!!!
-
Borate!
Thank you soo much, you are a star.
Questions
Do I need to inform the developers? Or are you letting them know?
Second question. how did you manage to change the format and still keep me work in videopad? you must have replaced each original videofile with a new one. how did you do this?
Again thank you!

There's a simple method to port a project. With it on the timeline, click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. Save to a USB stick. On the new PC, insert the USB and open the .vpj file, which will load the project. Or open Videopad and click on FILE|OPEN PROJECT. Point to the USB's .vpj file and open it.
You don't mention the PC specs - CPU, GPU, RAM, free drive space - but be aware that video editing is resource intensive.
Empty the Videopad cache prior to importing a new project. That's done under OPTIONS|DISK tab. Once cached, the material should load more quickly next time.
Update the video card to the latest driver. Update Direct-X if necessary. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
If you share the project, once it's fully loaded, someone will check it out. This is how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
If it contains sensitive info you can link it to me in a personal message (envelope at the top-right of the forum page).
I simply don' get things to work. When I try top open the project the computer freezes. When I close it down it continues to be frozen...
I have uploaded the project here. Great if you want to have a look. LEt me know when you have downloaded (4 gig), I will then remove.

Hm
I wonder if my computer is broken. I reinstalled an older version of Videopad (7.03). All went ok.
I then copied the folder with all my files, "raw" videofiles, audio files and the .vpj file to my computer. I then tried to open up the .vpj file. It takes forever. the computer gets slow and Videopad is using 75% of the cpu. I get the impression that Videopad is indexing my files... but it just takes forever..
Could it be that my graphics card is about to break?
-
Hi
When using and older version all actually worked perfect. I don't recomend downloading the latest version....
Thanks for all your help!!!
I will try to download and install 7.03 at home tonight. This was the version that worked ok on my office computer

Hi
Change to storyboard mode. All clips will now be shown a s equal size thumbnails. Any small or tiny clip will be easily seen (note the durations) if you find any just click and delete.
earlier versions are here... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html
But before reinstalling try the advice given my myself and Dangerfreak.
Nat
Hi, and thanks!!!
How do I download the earlier versions? I only see a buttom for the latest version...
Or am I blind?
-
Hmmm
i will try tontight. but the issue is there almost everytime I change a clip.
Could it be the new version? I am trying export a video file on my office computer where i have an older version installed.

Hi
I have downloaded the latest Videopad version, 7.11 I think
i am getting an error when between two videoclips. I see a short Picture of a previous clip between the two clips. If i add a transition effect it get even worse, the still picture is there during a big part of the transition
i am using videos that have different format, some from my phone, other from a videocamera.
Any idea what could be causing this?
Can i download an earlier version and try?
Bad quality on youtube - choppy
in VideoPad

Borate
Again, thanks for spending time helping me.
I looked at the clip on your youtube channel. Looks similar to mine. But I still think that the quality is worse vs the file I created in VP. I don't see fluid motion
And yes. the base quality is bad. I was filmed with an Ipad and broadcast via an app. I know...
I have fiber and 250 megabit on my computer, so it should not be hindering me. I guess it just could be youtube limiting the quality somehow...
Any idea if a different format than .mp4 should improve youtube quality?
