Both preview and export can be set to any ratio.  Right-click in the preview window and CHANGE PREVIEW SETTINGS.

In the video export box, click in the RESOLUTION field, then click CUSTOM and input your parameters.

Thank you for the info on the preview settings! I am still having problems with exporting though. I cropped the video to portrait size and exported at 720x1280 and it came out small. Here is what the video came out looking like (The clips that are smaller are the cropped ones):

  2. I have been using VideoPad for about 2 years now, and with the new release of IGTV, I wanted to make some portrait videos. VideoPad does not seem to be able to export portrait and will instead export it as a 16:9 video, how do I change this? Is there a way to make the preview window(s) portrait view also? TIA!

  3. So I thought that to disable snapping you just hold shift but when I hold shift while cropping a clip on the timeline the clip doesn't crop. Instead it goes the cropped distance under the clip in front of it. any suggestions?

We still working on providing project templates.

For now you can make a project with all the clips that to be shared between projects. Every time rather than start a blank new project, just load this template project and Save As a new one.

Awesome, thank you! Will do that and can't wait for the update with the templates.

  6. Whenever I hold shift so that the clips to snap it messes the timeline up. Instead of cropping to were i cropped it to it pushes the clip im trying to crop that length under the clip before it. Why is it doing this?

That's likely a Windows issue.  Open Control Panel and click AUTOPLAY.  See if the choices there overcome the problem.

control panel on my computer or on videopad? sorry I'm not super experienced with computer stuff... just editing

  9. When I plug my camera into my computer I always get that popup from videopad that lets me copy and load the files super easily. Well I checked the box "don't show again" thinking it would just always automatically load the files, my thinking was wrong. how do I get that popup back?
