Hi all, first post for me

I have the free version currently (will buy if I can get a good recording imported).

I am trying to import some family history audio files, people talking basically.

As a test I am trying to import some music I have on a Sony Minidisk (MZ-R900 model) but I am struggling to get a clear recording without lots of interference.

can anyone give me some tips to be able to get clear audio.

I have bought new Stereo 3.5mm leads and am connecting via the Microphone in socket, and am listening to the import & resulting file through a pair of headphones in the laptop headphone socket.
