Is it a crash requiring a PC reboot or does VP simply stop running or freeze while still displaying?

VideoPad crashes, it just says "VideoPad Video Editor has crashed because of an abnormal exception"

How much free space is available on the hard drive? What are the system specs?

 

Have you cleared unused Videopad cache files under OPTIONS|DISK?

What version of VP? Try the latest.
