  1. "i downloaded your video....." I didn't understand this part of the post , I only have videos on clive lombari channel on youtube.I am guessing it is somebody else's video. And i have bloggs on wordpress as arcangelolombari

  2. thanks for the above.I will study it.I bought Sony Acid Pro 7 which is probably a better tool for recording various music tracks then mixing them. But it was so complicated that i then bought videopad.Even this isn't easy , for what I want to do.Yet it must b quite a common requirement for putting music videos on your YOUTUBE video channel.Yet all my videos on youtube need deleting and me starting again as I think I have improved my singing so much recently.Unfortunatly tho although I have 2 £100 quality mics and the ability to record direct off my guitars into a focusrite audio interface , I am still absolute beginner at recording.Hence trying to learn about this.

  3. Nationsolo I have used your procedure.Once i have made the singing melody and guitar lead.I played it back continuously using real player listening on my headphones, then used videopad to record me playing the chords to it.I unlinked the video2 deleted it and just kept the audio.I loaded video 1 back into videopad and moved it down the bottom.Although both audio tracks were loud enough to listen to , the amplitudes were very small , making it very difficult to line them up (syncronise i guess).Am I still doing something wrong? Can u play and record on videopad at the same time like narrate does?

    cheers

  4. thats good to know.So narrate certainly is the the way to go then , and if i want to add a third track like some drummimg ,render the two to 1 mp4 , reload and narrate the drumming onto (melody and chords mp4).I have Blue Yeti condenser usb mic , and a Shure XLR , a Behringer mixer , and a 2 input focusrite audio interface if i want to record direct into Videopad. So lots of options.I just need to learn how to use videopad properly.

Have you tried Main Tool Bar -> Home -> Record -> Narrate?

yes i have used that but wanted to find a better way to doing it , or should i say the proper way.I thought i was cheating and was unsure wether that way would make a quality recording as the narration track .Thanks for that anyway.By the way NCH have now given me a registered version of 5.11.This time i wont do any more updates lol

    Hi

This ought to be a new thread but as mentioned above All versions of VP are multi track. For your project the most intuative way is as follows but other ways are also possible...

    1. Film yourself singing and playing the melody notes
    2. Put this on Video track 1
    3. Now film yourself  playing the chords but listening  through earphones to your first recording on VP to keep in time. (You could make an mp3 using NCH recordpad or similar) It doesn't matter what the film is like as you will only need to use the audio.
    4. Place the new video on the overlay track.(Video Track 2)  Audio track 2 will be your chord recording.
    5. Click the "eye" icon at the left end of Video Track 2 to prevent the track outputting.
    6. Line up the sound with Audio Track1 by sliding Audio Track 2 so the peaks match with the melody. This might mean cutting the Video track 2 clip to get the required movement. (But see below)

You should now have a film of you singing and playing the melody with the chords and you can add other soundtracks in a similar way.

An alternative (possibly a bit easier) is to film the chords playing with the camera whilst listening to the timelime on VP via earphones to keep it at the correct speed. Load the clip you get to VP and then unlink the audio. Now save the audio as a separate file. With your main film on the sequence line this audio file can then be loaded like any other clip and dropped direct to Audio track 2 beneath Audio track 1. This way you will not be distracted by a second Video track.

thanks i will have to study this as i have only a little knowledge , latency will this be a problem ,i do have a focusrite scarlett audio interface , and an 5 channel behringer mixer

  7. thanks cMajor , what i want tp do is have one video track i.e. me singing the melody while also playing the melody notes one on my guitar then adding another audio track of me playing the chords to it and then mayb adding another audio track of me snare druming to it.Then rendering the finished song to mp4.Also how do i play the video and record another audio track at the same time. This must be quite a common requirement. Also how do u make a single audio version to multitrack or are all versions multitrack?

  8. how can i find out what old version this code is for xxxxxxxxx I think it was 4.xx and how do I download that multitrack version?

  9. thanks.I loaded it and it now says unregistered.I put my registeration code in and it says the code is for ver 4.xx software i remember paying to upgrade for multitrack version but don't remember getting a new code.unless it was for an older multitrack version.I think i bought it early 2016.

  10. I have been using videopad for at least 9 months no problem on Windows 10.

I use my webcam to capture me and my mate on our guitars and singing. It captures mp4.

I edit the beginning and end parts normaly

All of a sudden it will not export any more. And Failed comes up.

Any ideas why.I have reloaded videopad to the latest version and its still the same.

    Any ideas?
