  1. When I get an incoming call from a number that shows up as ANONYMOUS, if I put that call on hold, express talk says it has disconnected the call. The caller is still connected and only hears silence. Since express talk says the call is disconnected I can't get back to the caller. This only happens to anonymous callers, and it doesn't matter if I use the hold option built into express talk, or IMS.

  2. I figured it out the variable is cid, but I had to assign it to a local variable, and use that to make it work.

Now the problem is that the caller id is putting a 1 in front of the number, so that 5555551212, is read as 15555551212.

Is there some way to do a math function on a variable (ie. cid-10000000000) to get that 1 out of there?

  3. Unless you get a real telephony device -- perhaps a Dialogic card, or the Way2Call USB, you will have problems. PC modems that double as voice do not do voice well at all. I bought a Dialogic card from some surplus dealer and it works flawlessly. I used to use a Way2Call phone device but something happened with the telco and the Way2Call no longer read caller ID. Before that I tried many voice modems but NONE were reliable.

I ended up installing Axon and subscribing to CallCentric. For about $9.00 a month, all my problems are solved, and I have a way better phone system than I would with a single analog phone line and a voice card.

  4. I downloaded and setup the trial version of IVM 4.01. It works great and does exactly what I need it to, however, I have two issues that I need to be able to resolve before purchasing the program.

First, I am trying to use the program to simulate having a caller on hold in a queue. I have an OGM that just plays a long file that makes it sound like you are on hold with music, it plays for 15 minutes and then goes to a mailbox. The problem is that if the caller hangs up before it gets to the mailbox the IVM doesn't detect that the caller hung up, so the phone line just stays busy until it goes through to the mailbox and records a blank message. I am using this with a standard analog phone line from Verizon. Is there a better voice modem card that will detect the end of call better than the one I am currently using (smartlink 56k voicemodem), or is there some setting I can ghange in the program to fix this? I have already tried the two end of call detect checkbox settings, but they didnt help. I have also turned up the record detect level, but that didn't help either.

Second, when I am on the phone and a call comes in through call waiting, IVM answers the call, even though I am in the middle of another call. Is there a way to fix that?
