  1. Hi, Can anybody help me please. I've bought some foot pedals Olympus RS24 to use with Express Scribe which I have installed on my computer. I now find that Express Scribe doesn't generally support Olympus pedals so I'm a bit upset, having also spent money buying a USB adaptor as pedals have serial connection. Any suggestions! :(

Hope I'm not stating the obvious here, but in setting up your pedal with the serial port (I'm assuming you have serial port available on your PC) did you select COM1 (Serial)? If you only have USB, maybe Olympus has a special driver. I do not know the Olympus pedals nor do I know if you serial port on your PC. Worst case scenario, only if you have serial port, is to rewire directly from the switches inside to a DB-9 female connector - Pin1 = Switch 1, Pin4 = Ground, Pin7 = Switch 3, Pin9 = Switch 2. Hope this helps.

  2. can anybody help with regrad to auto playback like 2 or 3 seconds. even if my express scribe is set at 2000 ms, it still does not automatically playback. it plays where it stops. pls help. thanks.

What version of Expess Scribe are you using and what operating system? You confused me referring to an auto playback setting. There is an Auto-Backstep on Stop setting. Are you sure this is the one you used? If so it should work.

  3. I cannot get ExpressScribe to load my .wma files; it doesn't even recognize them in the load window. The technical support page says I may need different codecs, but I don't know what that means or how to find them. Any suggestions?

I have a user machine with Win XP SP1 and using Express Scribe 4.05. The latest DirectX version is installed (Aug 2006). However .wma files refuse to play though they play in Windows Media Player 9. Tried to convert to .mp3 using Switch, but got an error involving DRM (Digital Rights Management). Any suggestions on how to proceed? Even tried wma to wav converter from the components page. No luck there. Thanks
