  1. Hello Guys,

i see that a lot of people are using Axon, how about the other modules like IVM IMS.. etc... does it work well on G711 point of view bandwidth??

the big cons of the system is that it uses large bandwidth and cannot work on g729 or g723.

does anyone know a dialer that works with axon and have g723 and g729 codec and have all the functionality of Express talk?

    thanks

  2. I kno what I am about to say will  not be a tremendous help but it is a start to hopefully help you realize that this system will work you just have to know how to use it, which unfortunately NCH does not help much with.

First off this is a complex system and it takes a while to learn all the ins and outs, trust me I know first hand as I have been working with it for a couple of months in an office environment, not only with AXON and IVM but general networking issues as well. For example it took me two weeks to realize that the wireless router I was using was causing one way audio and that the easiest way to avoid that problem was to not use a router with NAT security but use a router with packet sampling security instead. This was discovered after happening upon a white paper about VOIP and the problems with NAT. Anyway your basic problem, I believe, is not having a complete understanding of IVM. You have to make sure that your OGM is set up properly. In addition you have to make sure that in IVM under "Settings", under the "VOIP" tab you have a VOIP account set up for the particular answering OGM you are trying to use. I know this is not a tremendous help but it is a start. I would strongly recommend that you go back and read the help manual more completely, I made the same mistake, and while it will not answer all of your questions it will give you a more thourogh understanding and better enable you to solve your problems, God knows NCH will not be a big help but then they are busy trying to develop the software.

    CODEC

    Hello,

i have a Voipswitch and i tried to connect Axon to it here is what happened...

i setup a DID to go to my switch(as G729 codec) then to Axon then to an extension that is hooked to a SIPURA it worked very well.

then i tried to call from the SIPURA to the switch to a cellphone it worked perfectly.

now i tried to to make the call come to the IVM and here the call always drops and my system informed me that the codec is the problem.. also the same thing happened when i send the call to the express talk(pc dialer).

Can someone explain clearly what codec Axon use? is it a pass through all Codec?

how about IVM, IMS and express Talk???

why not to have these codec G723.1 and G729 on all the units, how much is going to cost more... a 100$ more it is worth it. or you can add it as optional where you can pay to haqve that codec...

    thanks
