  1. I highlight the file, click the remove button and its still there! HELP! THis software has been a pain ever since I installed it. It has a glitch in it that tells you the router needs configuring when it actually doesn't. It took me a DAMN WEEK to figure that out! I can't get help on how to include skype conversations with the audio stream for interviews and such. This overall experience HAS COMPLETELY SUCKED!!! I am about ready to look at other options. Spend my money on this? I think not!!!!

  2. Hi again,

I'm assuming you have Broadwave relaying the "stereo mix" from your PC, i.e. whatever the PC is playing, so you can link anything, e.g. mics, audio in (using the Line In jack) or any other sound source.

For "any other sound source" you might be using Winamp to play MP3s, for example.

In my case, I relay audio from an external location, and you can use Winamp to listen to that location, just by specifying a URL, the URL for the remote source. These remote sources could also be using Broadwave too.

I use the radio automation program ZaraRadio, which can select a variety of sources, live and pre-recorded, and then use Broadwave to relay the output of ZaraRadio onwards to the transmitter.

Yes, I have my mixer ran into my mic input on the pc in which I have Broadwave's stream set to Mic/line in to pick up the music that I spin from the turntables/mixer. I also have my wireless mics hooked up through my mixer so it picks those up as well. Now I need to figure how to get somebody from a remote location in for live dialogue. I will take a look at Zararadio

  3. It sounds like port forwarding on the router is not directing incoming requests to the broadwave server. If it works internally, then the broadwave PC is ok.

From outside your network, try it first with your public IP address and the correct port number. Once you get that working, you can use DNS to substitute the domain name stuff instead. It's difficult to tell which bit isn't working, so that should separate it into two steps.

Thanks Kena. It actually works now but I think there is a glitch in the software where it continues to tell you that router configuration needs to be done when it actually works. I am using the IP links and would like to use a domain name instead. I registered a domain with the public IP through Dyndns.com and turned on DDNS in my router using Dyndns service with the domain name. On the software I set it to use the domain name instead of the IP, but when I go to use the domain name rootradio.info it does not work. Internally and of course externally. Any suggestions?

  4. After days of configuring I FINALLY have Broadwave streaming. SIDE NOTE! There is a glitch in the software that will tell you the router needs configuring when it actually does not. Make sure you have everything configured properly and you should be fine. My last issue. This is going to be a radio show and I would like to have a solution to have bring other people onto the show (in different locations) with me live for interviews and such. How can I get that done? Something like phone conferencing? How can I have people on the streaming audio live? I have my 2 wireless mics linked through my mixer so it will pick up those, but what about somebody from the outside world? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Blessings....

  6. Thanks,

I actually tried that about an hour ago. I wanted to test it out just in case and it worked. I am streaming live in Wyoming and my family in Missouri was able to hear it about 5 seconds afterwards. They should tell you about that flaw when you get the program. I spent a day and a half trying to figure out what to do with my router and firewall trying to get it to work only to find out that it was working all along.

I usually figure things out very quickly but this one took me forever.

I DEFINITELY understand? Would you know how to get 1 or 2 people to talk over this stream if they are in different locations? I guess like conferencing or something? That's my next issue...

  7. Please Help,

I am trying to run live streaming on my computer. When I first tested Broadwave I was told that I needed to set up port forwarding on my router. I did this exactly how they told me to do it and then I also set up firewall to allow BroadWave. However, even with port forwarding set up and the firewall on my computer allowing the Broadwave port I still get the same fail message. It is pretty frustrating when I click help and it tells me to do exactly what I have already done.

First question - should my local network ip be the same as my public network?

Does anybody know what I can do next? It sounds like a lot of people have this problem. But I haven't found an answer that works yet.

    Thanks,

I am trying to do an online radio station with this software and FINALLY got it to work. I found out that it works even though the error message still exists. I spent days trying to get the software to say network configured correctly and decided to finally make sure all my network info is correct, tested it and it works. Meanwhile, it still says I need to check router configuration. smh. With that being said, make sure all of your settings are correct. Local and public IP is NOT the same. Go to myipaddy.com to get your public ip address. I am using a DSL modem with a linksys wireless router. On the modem I setup NAT port forwarding with 88 to 88, base port 88 and the wireless router port forwarding 88 to 88 with to the Static IP of the pc. In the software I have it configured in the local network section as port 88 with the local PC IP address and the public network section with the public ip address. Again, just go to myipaddy.com to get that. Even though it gives me an error. I have been able to stream.

Now I am trying to figure out how I can stream 1 or 2 callers in to talk with the music like a radio station with them being in different locations. Phone conferencing or something? Hit me up djundergroundatl@gmail.com if you need somebody to test it with you. Also, once they get to your site, just have them to hit the black play button under the set of links. Clicking the links do not work for me.

  8. Ok, i can see the broadwave page and listen to my playlist via my private ip address scheme and others on the outside can access the broadwave page of links via the public ip scheme but can't listen to any. The page errors out when they try to click on a link or copy/paste it in a browser.....

  9. Ok, I have DDNS service enable with Dyndns.org's info in my Linksys router. I registered a domain using the public address. I also placed that domain name in the domain field of the linksys. When I save the settings I run a test and it says the network is configured correctly and I can browse the internet normally. But broadwave will give me the network error and needs to be configured message soon after that. Is it because of the public address and if so, what address should I use?

  10. Hi, welcome to the forum.

From your description, it's unclear what the problem is, though running Broadwave should not interfere with normal web browsing.

From what you are saying, perhaps you are trying to connect to broadwave from a PC on your local network using the public IP address - this will only work if you router/modem supports "NAT loopback" - and many home routers don't.

Have a read of some of my earlier posts about port forwarding , NAT and so on, and come back and let us know exactly what works and doesn't.

Ive read multiple posts but can't seem to get it working. I registered dyndns but which IP should I use? I am beyond frustrated with this.... I am behind 2 routers... The Motorola 2210-02 Modem and a linksys WRT54G wireless router. For the Motorola my setting are set to, UPNP enabled, NAT enabled with ports 88-88, base port 80. Firewalls are off. For the linksys router, the settings are UPNP enabled, Port forwarding enabled on 88-88 with IP address of the PC where the software resides. DMZ is on. Firewall is disabled. I used a port checker and it says the port is open on another device and it can ping the router.

  11. Ok, the setup.. DSL Motorola 2210-02 modem with Linksys WRT54G wireless router. With all firewalls disabled, I have tried numerous of combinations but have found that if I set port forwarding on the linksys only as 88 to 88, TCP, with the computer's ip address where the software resides and configure broadwave in the public network option with the public ip address of the modem, the software SOMETIMES says its configured correctly. However, when I try to access the internet to send the link to a friend for testing, I can't access the internet as well as the link does not work. I have managed to hear the stream in the local network from another computer here but how do I get it out to the internet world for others to listen and be able to surf the web from the house as well? I know using the public ip address is a no no because it changes btu it was the only way I was able to get some type of positive result... NEED HELP!!!!!
