I purchased an Infinity USB foot pedal (model IN-DVIUSB) off of ebay and can't get it to work with Express Scribe. Keep getting an error message that the VEC foot pedal USB is not plugged in, it is. The computer seems to recognize the usb for the foot pedal is plugged in because I get a message indicating new hardware has been detected. Any suggestions?
I had a similar problem, in not getting my Infinity pedal to work. Fortunately, I had a Sanyo 3-pedal foot pedal availabe. Plugged it in and it worked right away.
I asked the same question you are asking and got very long-winded answers, which I did not understand. The bottom line is, my Infinity 3-pedal pedal will not work and my Sanyo 3-pedal pedal will work with Express Scribe.

I have just installed Express Dictate for my MacBook Pro running OS X (Tiger), because Express Scribe doesn't allow me to do the "cable dock" input as it does on Windows.
I downloaded it, tested that it worked and it seemed to work fine, then I went back to transcribing ... and all of a sudden it wouldn't work! I pressed play in both Express Dictate and Express Scribe and the button went dark, but no playback. The time indicator didn't shift.
Help!
Click on Settings---->File
Make sure you have a check mark in the type of file you are trying to listen to.

Looks like no one knows the answer. This is what I want to know before I buy one of these pedals. I can't imagine transcribing without the backstop. Did you ever find out?
Click on Settings------>Playback
Enter a number for Auto-Backstep. Start with 1000 and increase it by 500 until you reach the desired backstop.

Dictation files come in but are shown as one hour later than my computer clock. For example, a file that comes in at 10:30 will actually show 11:30. The fact that it is off by exactly one hour means that I can quickly determine the correct time, but I would like to set it to show the correct time, if possible.
Is there a way to set the time?

Just connected my 2-channel card. Connected the tph line and dialed in. VRS is not answering the incoming call. How do I get it to answer automatically?
If I click in the tph icon to lift the receiver off and click again to hang up, it will disconnect the incoming call. But at no time did VRS ever connect for recording purposes.
Additional information:
I have connected a 2-line Professional Telephony Board (from CURL) to my computer. Loaded in the driver. I connected a tph line directly from the wall jack into one of the two line ports. I dial in and nothing happens.
What am I missing? What am I not doing?

Often I need to delete 100 old voice files at a time. Now, I have to restore each voice file individually and delete one at a time. Is there a faster way to delete, without restoring individually and then deleting one at a time?

Try a sanyo 3-pedal pedal. I had a similar problem with Infinity while using my desktop, which I resolved with the use of the sanyo pedal.
