I had the same problem when I reformatted. It has to do with a dll file - I will try to explain/remember what I did. Go to http://www.nch.com.au/components/index.html. These are a bunch of components - Go to your c:\program files\NCH Software\Components - I don't remember which one I needed, but I am using dss32, mp3el, and vis (and vecusb if you are using an USB foot pedal). Download what you're missing and run it.

I downloaded the wmawav.exe and that seems to work now. Thanks so much for your help!

I use express scribe for transcription and many of the file that I get are in wma format. Last week suddenly Express Scribe will no longer correctly load these and shows a duration of 0.00 when I try to load. I do not have the same problem with dss files or others. These same wma files will open in Windows Media Player so it's apparently not a codec issue. I have the latest version of DirectX. These are not files with digital rights management issues so I am at a loss as to what to do. Please help. Thanks.
