  1. 1.52 for Mac was released on 2009-01-14

2.01 for PC was released on 2009-03-02

Thanks for your reply. Every time I download Switch for Mac (the free version) from this page:

    http://www.nch.com.au/switch/mp3.html

I open the disk image file and copy Switch to my applications folder and it says the version was created on January 13th, 2009. When I choose "About Switch" from the Switch menu, it says version 1.50 (Intel).

Is there a link someone can point me to in order to download the newer version 1.52?

    Thanks so much,

    Gerard

  2. Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and I just went to use the free version of Switch 1.5 for Mac Intel. I downloaded it a few weeks ago but haven't used it until today so a message came up telling me I could still use it but some features would be disabled. Or something like that.

Anyway - to get to the point, I converted an AIFF file to an mp3 file and in the process of doing so, I saw something pop up called "Install on Demand" and something installed on my system but I don't know what it was - my console log says something about LAME version 3.96.1 http://lame.sourceforge.net/

What happened here? I don't really like having stuff installed on my system without being asked first. All I did was click the convert button and something installed.

Can anyone let me know what this was all about?

Actually - just looking in my system now, I see that at the time of conversion, a folder called NCH Software was added and a folder inside of it called Components - inside that folder is a file called "mp3el".

Is this normal procedure for Switch?

    Thanks,

    Gerard
