I finally made the modem work with some OTHER software, just a basic mailbox, but i want to use IVM to do this, not other software.

The software i was using was Communicate! Lite. I was told by ZOOM customer support that i need to add some AT initialization commands:

(at&d0s0=2&w). I did, however, when i use IVM, nothing happends. When i use the other software, i can see the AA light on the modem turning on (auto answer light).

So my final question is, how can i enter these commands for IVM to use?

I have set the program up with a Zoom 2985C modem, vista compatible, voice and data/fax modem.

Every time i call, it picks up. I see the program saying that it "plays" the wav files set by me, yet i cannot hear anything on the phone i'm calling from.

However, when i do the "call transfer", i hear it dialing no problem.

So i can hear the program dial the "call transfer number", as in the beeps as you would press the keys on your phone, but messages i do not hear.

Any idea why this is? I tried going to the audio tab and selecting modem playback, speakers... every combination possible... nothing.

Found the problem. Modem driver is bad, it 'forces' the modem to work as a wave device, but fails as soon as it picks up. Problem was reproduced with the dialer and other software.

I am looking to buy a new modem, my modem seems to not work right.

Can anyone suggest a good modem?

I have a toll free number I want to forward to my *new number* and then have the IVR work off that.

 

Magic Jack was $20 for the year or whatever, I can use a hard-bullt answering machine to maybe do this but I cant even find one that has simple IVR on it.

If you have Comcast phone as your main line (its like $29.95/mo for first 3 months, then 39.95 after, unlimited calls to us and canada), you can add another number without any features (voicemail, etc.) to your account for only $10/mo if im not mistaking, same thing, unlimited calls to US and canada. You might want to call and ask, dont take my word for it.

I'm trying to set up IVM to work with comcast as we speak, however, i think because of my modem in my computer it's not working right. I'll let you know the results.

After hours of looking for a driver for my modem (fianlly got the right one with voice support from HP), when i call, it picks up, then immediatly disconnects me!

It works just fine with the simulator!
