If you convert a video format, quality loss is inevitable.
Why would you want to use windows movie maker to play it?
Why don't you use a decent media player that is able to play mov files properly, like quicktime or KMPlayer or Gomplayer in combination with the quicktime alternative directshow codecs?
Because I want to use it to edit my videos. And The quality loss of this is TERRIBLE, not acceptable at all. It has HUGE pixels in it.

Okay, I'm wanting to format my video (origionally .mov) to .wmv but every time I do so, its got HUGE pixels and looks terrible. It is great in .avi but I need .wmv to play it on windows movie maker. (which keeps recognizing my .avi files as only audio )
Sooo, I made the video smaller, still bad, changed the frame rate, still bad. But not sure what the frame rate should be, really. I've done 30 and 60.
Any help??
.wmv format looks terrible!

I do use videopad, to convert. And I can do cuts and fades with it, but the text part is way too small to see to be worth using, and it doesn't have other effects that WMM does.
Apparently I need to just find another program to convert my .mov files so I can use WMM. I like video pad but the conversion is terrible. And I want more choices on effects and such.
Thanks for trying to help.
