Has anyone had an issue with trying to run the Express Scribe. One one xp pc we get the Express Scribe

has crashed because of an abnormal exception. This just started to happen.

FIX THIS DAMN THING. You expect us to purchase something that has to be completely uninstalled and reinstalled each and every time. Go back to 4.35.

Very useful. Thank you. These upgraded versions just don't quite seem to work as well. The 5.40 won't upload files, so I have to constantly download older versions of Express Scribe.

This problem has been sent to the bug police so many times I've lost count. FIX THIS DARN PROBLEM. Very poor relationship with your clients, I might add.

I see that you're basically in the same boat as I am. Except my footpedal just stops and I have to power down my entire system and reboot. What a crock this is. I see that your post has never been answered, either.

I have been using Express Scribe for a few years now,with a foot pedal, but for some reason it was giving me problems because it wouldn't play certain files such as DSS and WAV and I always had to convert them to MP3s in order to play them through my Express Scribe. Therefore, I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it today. I am now having problems with the foot pedal with the reinstallation. I got the foot pedal to work, but in order for it to continuously play, I have to hold the "Play" foot pedal key down the entire time. When I let off the "play" button, it stops playing entirely. It looks like I don't have a "pause" option anymore. Any ideas how to fix this? Please help because I can't use the hot keys. It's so much more difficult than the pedal.

What does this mean? I'm attempting to save the dictation along with a short description in the notes. However, it comes up with "File Write Failed." Now what?

I've recently made the mistake of downloading this newest version of Express Scribe 4.29 and am unable to save multiple files into a single folder as before. Any ideas to help with this? I did notice the following phrase in relation to the 4.27:

Fixed: "Save As" can no longer save a dictation with an invalid file extension.
