  1. I am a satisfied, long-time, U.S. user of IVM who recently upgraded from XP to Vista Ultimate (32-bit). I am at my wit's end trying to locate even a single modem (low-profile PCI or USB) that will work with IVM under Vista. If anyone with NCH (or anyone else) can point me in the right direction, I'd surely appreciate it. I'd hate to stop using this wonderful software just because I've moved to Vista, but I've now purchased and returned at least 5 modems in an effort to find one that works. And, yes, I have done the appropriate settings and diagnostics, and although at least one of them reported supported for the Rockwell voice command set (AT#CLS), none was recognized by IVM. Thanks in advance for any information.

  2. I tried several voice modems with Answering Attendant and they all worked (with the exception of caller I.D.) until I got Vista. Just finding a 56k modem to work with Vista was tough...most are evidently manufactured based on ancient designs. This one was just designed a couple of years ago so I took a flier. It not only works well, but for the first time I have caller I.D.!!!!

Like I said, your experience may be different...

    Chuck

  3. I don't want a default mailbox because I don't want the responsibility for checking it and sorting it out- I want callers to choose the appropriate box to leave a message or not be able to leave one at all.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

  4. At one point I decided to setup VOIP because I thought I had to. I think I screwed up my IVM configuration forever. I AM NOT USING VOIP but I get this in my log:

Please tell me how I can disable VOIP and return to my good old IVM land-line answering device.

    Thanks,

    Chuck
